Job Description:
The Human Resources Generalist serves as contact for employees and managers, overseeing various human resources (HR) functions. These include recruitment, orientation, onboarding/offboarding, administration of employee benefits, maintenance of personnel files, interpretation and enforcement of organizational policies and practices, and various other duties.
Essential Duties:
- Maintain current and former employee files in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations.
- Assist with company benefits administration including data entry, annual renewals, help with administration, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Administration of 401k, COBRA, FMLA, E-Verify, verification of employment, ACA reporting, audits, garnishments, etc.
- Maintaining Capital’s open positions internally and externally. Coordinates interviews, start dates, rejection notices, and offer letters.
- Maintaining/updating personnel files.
- Administers and assists with continuous improvement of employee orientation, development, and training.
- Maintain and update personnel information, scan personnel documents into the system, and enter new hire and employee status changes.
- Respond to unemployment requests.
- Assist with administration of workers compensation claims.
- Explore opportunities to add employee value and satisfaction, including but not limited to employee recognition, birthday announcements and wellness committee activities.
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with onsite or visiting clients.
- Serve as a leading example of all Capital’s policies and core values.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (or related field), or 3+ years of human resources or related field preferred.
- Understanding of applicable State and Federal employment law
- Demonstrated integrity, honesty and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to solve problems and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Must be a hands-on person proficient at communicating with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to effectively facilitate meetings.
- Excellent presentation skills (written and oral).
- Strong proficiency in PC-based Windows applications, word processing and fundamental understanding of network applications.
- Paylocity experience preferred.
